Underground
telecommunication cables are laid into HDPE ducting by either mechanically pulling
or blowing with compressed air. In both cases tensile forces are applied to
the cable. The forces are very much dependent upon the friction between the
cable and the inner wall of the duct. If these forces are too high the cable
will become damaged.
The Penn-Lube range of high performance, cable pulling* and blowing lubricants have been specially formulated to allow you to pull/blow with less force over longer distances. The special formulated base with added Silicone offers excellent friction reduction. With high clingability and forming a thin hydrophobic coating the friction is reduced under both high and low sidewall pressures even after months of application.
